Warrior Queen Dancehall Set from

Live recording of Warrior Queen‘s performance alongside Gabriel Heatwave at Manchester reggae dancehall night Hot Milk. Warrior Queen shook the crowd with a stream of scintillating and often slack vocals over recent bashment riddims like Heathen and Hmm Hmm. Plus acapella singalongs and renditions of hits like Check It (Skream), Almighty Father (Sunship) and our tune with her, Things Change.
Unfortunately, in all the excitement the minidisc ran out of space so neither her first live rendition of Things Change nor Almighty Father over the Pass That Dutch instrumental were recorded. Also missing here is the moment when Mega Ras – officially present to tend to the sick, bass-heavy Megatone soundsystem – was so taken by Warrior Queen’s style and pattern that he couldn’t resist jumping onstage to join her in an impromptu combination on the Sleng Teng riddim.
Luckily the feed was back up and running shortly afterwards and caught the brilliant, Amy Winehouse-referencing anti-crack segment which saw five MCs going back to back over the classic Koloko riddim. As Zippa Tafari put it, "You’d better go a raasclaat rehab – don’t tell me no, no, no".
