The Bristol Festival - September 20th and 21st 2008

BRIZZOLFEST: Lloyds Amphitheatre, Bristol City Centre 11am-10pm both days. 2 day ticket just £10!

RAVE-ON-AVON: 10 nightclubs 9pm until 6am (closing times vary club to club) Saturday only. 2 days plus 1 night £16.60!

The Bristol Festival is a new community festival organised entirely by volunteers celebrating Southwest talent. From music and theatre to circus and art.

Brizzolfest is the main outdoor hub of entertainment around the amphitheatre with 7 stages including Mr Wolffs, The Pub, the Street Stage, the Anchor Stage, The Acoustic Lounge, a solar powered Pyramid stage and a cabaret tent, a festival boat party leaving every 2 hours for raves up the river, circus zone, workshops, kids area, Hot Soup Chill Out, Guerrilla Galleries art gallery, Pandora’s Box fancy dress shop, a secret garden, oak paneled pub, arts and crafts, food stalls, a Bristol Jam open mic stage, the Soap Box for ranters and ravers and buskers alike, Yr Wall a digital graffiti wall, walkabouts and the whole site decorated by 30 top Bristol urban artists.

Rave-On-Avon is our club night programme with 10 venues opening their doors to the best electronic music from the southwest. Everything from drum n bass and dubstep, to electro and house and old skool Bristol bass will be available at Timbuk2, Native, the Tube, Chesters, Warehouse, the Croft and Blue Mountain. Live music will be on offer at Mr Wolffs with lively bands followed by funk DJs, and Start the Bus will showcase an electronic extravaganza beautifully merging theatrical live acts with dance music. Igfest are hosting their evening party of interactive gaming at the Louisiana too.

Tickets are available now from The Bristol Ticket Shop, online from www.thebristolfestival.org (until 10am Monday), at the usual outlets: Bristol Ticket Shop Galleries, Khoi on Park Street, Rooted on Gloucester Road to name a few, and on the gate (small additional charge will apply).

There’s also a whole wealth of other activities in the city over the weekend: Igfest, the Interesting Games festival, as part of the Bristol Festival, will run from Iglounge -what used to be Redrooms on the waterfront with interactive participatory games for all ages, Streets Alive are hosting a car free day of cycled powered fun on Corn Street and The Children’s Society are holding Walk and Explore on College Green with a Young Person’s stage and many kids activities. So much to come into the centre for!!!!

Volunteers: If you would like to help out we need decor and site crew from tues 16th sep to wed 24th, everyday down at the amphitheatre 10am-6pm, and stewards, litter pickers, and stage teams sat 20th and sun 21st. All volunteers receive free limited edition T-shirts, free food and drinks, free entry when not on shift, free souvenir programme lanyards, VIP tickets to the afterparty and stewards and litter pickers receive £20 expenses per shift.
