To Boldly Go... 27th April 2013, Exchange, Bristol, UK.

Now, if it’s mixtapes you’re after, good news, I’ve been using dropbox and thought I’d share a link to the folder here, if you’re not a user I’d recommend it, installing the desktop client when you sign up using the link below will increase my available share space, which means more mixtapes for everyone! Installing the client isn’t essential however, if you just want to get the mixtapes, last link in this post is what you’re after.

The contents of the rolling archive will change from time to time so what you get will depend on when you look in there, installing the client will enable you to easily transfer the ones you want to keep to another folder…

So here’s the link to the desktop client/sign up:

And the moment you’ve been waiting for, may I present… The rolling archive:

Parker

First starting his rise smashing chumps via DJ battles, Bristol’s Parker soon turned his hand to production gaining “lofty comparisons to the marvellous RJD2″. The driving soul and deep bass of his debut album To Eternity was described by DJ Magazine as having thrown “stylistic doors open wide with deliciously pleasing results”.

First Degree Burns

A sound so fresh it started a whole new genre, they call it ‘Skip-Hop’: fusing ska, reggae, hip-hop, rock and mad energy, this eight-man team serves beats, bass, horns and hooks with a hefty dollop of cheeky lyrical wit. Up tempo, conscious, danceable, invitingly innovative, musically accomplished, eclectic… and most importantly, not taking itself too seriously!
You might have caught them at Shambala, Boom Town, Beach Break, Fusion (Berlin) and countless other festivals across Europe recently; they’ve also supported The Beat, Bad Manners, Gomez, Jerry Dammers and The Slackers along the way. You are going to want to be right down the front for these guys. See why at:

The Scribes push the limits of hip hop to almost breaking point, mixing traditional hip hop sampling, live instrumentation, the most phenomenal freestyling in the UK and more energy than is even remotely sensible. I’m particularly happy with the Red Arrows photos.

Enjoy.

Big thanks to SurferPhil for the tickets to the Airshow today, and to PaulRock for the use of his camera; I’ll upload the photos once I’ve edited and processed them.

In the meatime, savour this formation from the Red Arrows – it gets a round of applause every time.
